The prologue of Room 320 at the Wilson World Hotel by Scott Douglas Vaughan starts with discussing the nature of sin, which is a rebellion of acts or thoughts against God. Arrogance and pride, part of human nature, lead to things like alcoholism, gluttony, and other human vices. Sin is not just about our attitudes but also about what we do to lift ourselves up and push others down. Part one discusses Kemmons Wilson, who was faithful to Jesus and his church. He had been raised by his mother, but despite the challenges, he worked hard and ended up creating a very successful chain of hotels called Holiday Inn. After he sold Holiday Inn, Kemmons founded Wilson World Hotels, which later impacted Frank's life. Initially, Frank was a shy person, but as his confidence started soaring, he became arrogant and proud. How will things turn out?

Room 320 at the Wilson World Hotel by Scott Douglas Vaughan is wonderfully written and gets one thinking about what it means to live a saved life. I loved how the work is grounded in the scriptures, with numerous verses that can form a base for further reading. Scott provided numerous relevant examples, which made the work effective in passing on the intended message. The narration was excellent, which added to the overall beauty of the work, and the reader will also appreciate the easy-to-understand language used, which makes it accessible to all audiences. This thought-provoking work also covers various topics such as working hard and parents' impacts on their children, which will resonate with many readers.

The Rocket Man's Daughter is a work of fiction penned by author Bruce Gardner in the historical fiction, interpersonal drama, and wartime stories genres. In this moving tale, Klara Neumann, a young German woman and aspiring psychiatric nurse, confronts the brutalities of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. As Hitler rises to power, Klara vows to protect her Jewish friends from persecution. Her efforts draw the dangerous attention of her Nazi-obsessed sister and a cunning SS officer. As World War II escalates, Klara joins a resistance group linked to theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Amidst the chaos of war, her faith and loyalty are tested, especially when her pre-war American boyfriend, now a military officer, reappears.

Author Bruce Gardner has crafted an emotionally gripping novel that shows clear empathy for people living through this difficult period of recent history. The juxtaposition of Klara's compassionate determination against the backdrop of Nazi brutality creates a profound sense of tension and urgency that grips readers from the start, and Gardner narrates with close attention to detail, compassion, and confidence. Klara's inner turmoil and courage in the face of overwhelming danger were deeply moving elements of her complex character, making her a compelling and relatable heroine with plenty of room to grow and be shaped by the challenges she faces in the plot. The historical context was vividly portrayed in all its atmospheric horror and fear, and the suspenseful cat-and-mouse game with the SS was a particularly riveting plot hook that kept me on edge. Overall, The Rocket Man's Daughter is a powerful work of wartime fiction that I would highly recommend for its attention to detail in both period and characterization.

The Moonshiner’s Wife by Twyla Dione Smith offers readers a glimpse into the rugged life of the American South during the tumultuous era of the Great Depression. Through the eyes of the protagonist, Birdie Fontenot, a resilient woman bound by love and hardship, Smith crafts a narrative rich in historical detail and emotional depth. The novel opens with Birdie grappling with the impending birth of her child while her husband, Troy, endures suffering in prison for moonshining. This establishes the foundation for a tale of survival and moral complexity. Birdie must confront the difficulties of running a farm and raising a family amid economic hardship and societal scrutiny.

Twyla Dione Smith skillfully captures the era’s essence, from the colloquial dialogue to the vivid descriptions of the rural setting. Historical context, such as the enforcement of Prohibition and the economic impact of crop failures, enriches the storyline. Supporting characters, such as Birdie’s twin sister Versie and the various townsfolk, add color and complexity to the narrative, reflecting the interconnectedness of community life. The Moonshiner’s Wife reflects the human spirit's capacity to endure and adapt. Smith’s prose is engaging, drawing readers into Birdie’s world with empathy. The novel explores love, loss, and resilience and offers a window into a bygone era with timeless themes that speak to the endurance of the human heart. This is an excellent choice for anyone interested in historical fiction that both tells a story and evokes the emotions and struggles of its characters. The twists and turns make this a book you won’t want to miss.

The Breakthrough Method by Cathy Morenzie is a faith-based holistic health system integrating spiritual, emotional, and physical transformation. The strategy is built on developing a clear, God-guided vision of health and identity, leaning into lasting change and not quick fixes. Morenzie teaches managing stress through a 3-Step Reset (pause, pray, practice) and reframing weight loss as spiritual stewardship, not just dieting. She talks about replacing restrictive diets with gratitude-based mindful eating, supported by Energy Evaluator tools. Exercise is presented as worship, and sleep is prioritized for overall vitality. Grace and habit formation, including routine-building and habit stacking, are key to this. Morenzie champions subverting fear and limiting beliefs through prayer and faith to sustain health. All her work aligns actions with Christian values in a lifelong journey toward physical and spiritual well-being.

The Breakthrough Method by Cathy Morenzie is a thoughtfully written guide, and Morenzie does an excellent job of bringing together spiritual principles and practical approaches to health. I like how her writing style is conversational, and the result is a cohesive message where every idea she presents feels grounded and accessible. I appreciate that she digs into the emotional and mental barriers that often hold us back, and counters these with an actionable method that helps readers to shift fear into faith through prayer and intentional practice. This is further highlighted in a discussion on the importance of integrity and consistent choices, supported by spiritual strength, in how deeply held values shape our health journey. The cornerstone in everything Morenzie teaches is scripture, and the use of biblical references illustrates her key concepts in a meaningful way. Overall, this is a wonderfully inspired holistic approach to wellness that integrates body, mind, and spirit. Very highly recommended.

Marrying The Mechanic by Shanna Hatfield is the seventh book in the Summer Creek clean romance series. Jace Easton is a mechanic who owns Whitey's, the only garage and gas station in Summer Creek. His life hasn't been the same ever since his little sister, Tassie, fell in love with Prince Eli Granville of Briden. Already struggling to come to terms with the fact that his kid sister has grown up and is now going to be living in Europe, Jace also has to deal with his feelings for Tassie's best friend, Deena Durant, a beautiful young woman. Deena has had a crush on Jace since she was a teenager. But now, Jace feels Deena has the opportunity to chase her dreams. Will he still pursue her? Will Jace and Deena end up together?

Full of heart and charm, Marrying The Mechanic is a delightful tale of love and family that will leave you with a smile on your face. Author Shanna Hatfield's heartwarming story perfectly captures the spirit of small-town America. Hatfield particularly excels in portraying the close-knit relationships of people in small towns with an enthralling narrative centered around a love story. The characters are down-to-earth people, the likes of which you may have met in real life. I found them immensely likable. Jace and Deena's relationship dynamic is thoroughly engrossing. Apart from these two, I also enjoyed the characters of Dean, Tassie, Eli, and Mrs. Finley. The narrative is smooth as Hatfield maintains an unhurried pace throughout the plot. If you're a fan of sweet, contemporary romance stories, this is the book for you!

The Tire Swing by Crystal Walton is a heartwarming Christian romance that explores second chances. Ellie Barrett returns to her quaint hometown after her Aunt Bev unexpectedly named her as the estate's executor in the will. What should have been a straightforward task quickly turns complicated when Ellie discovers her aunt left her with a mess—an estate dispute. As Ellie seeks answers, she finds herself drawn into a tangled web of memories with Cole Patterson, the boy she once loved and still has feelings for. Their reunion sparks old emotions and unresolved conflicts, forcing them to confront their past and the uncertain future that lies ahead. For Cole Patterson, it is not just about helping Ellie keep the house. Ellie might disrupt all his plans. But this time, will he make her a part of his plan for life?

Crystal Walton infuses the writing with such sweetness that it kept me spellbound, and I couldn’t resist the pull of the story. In addition to the mesmerizing prose, the carefully crafted characters are sculpted with such emotional depth that they become great companions. The author teases, captivates, leaves clues, and knows just how to touch the right strings in the hearts of the characters. This romance is suspenseful, driven by an emotional and psychological drama that brilliantly captures the tension between two people who have loved and lost and who are seeking each other out again. Both characters are tested by external threats—family secrets, town rivalries, and the looming threat of losing Ellie’s family home. The Tire Swing is a must-read for anyone looking for a love that redeems and romance that is infused with realism.

Chelsey Elise Young skillfully brings together the tropes of coming of age and coming to faith. Set on a university campus, The Sweet Experiment follows undergraduate Payton’s desire to change who she is to attract the attention of her college crush. Influenced by her friends and crushed by her unraveling home life, she searches for others’ definitions of what constitutes a sweet girl. Her painful journey brings her to faith and she finds out what sweetness really means.

I found The Sweet Experiment incredibly enjoyable. It was grammatically flawless and a pleasurable read. Payton’s battle between the broad and narrow ways will resonate with readers as she struggles to find hope while being repelled by the religiosity of the placard-waving Christians. I liked how genuine the characters are and how Chelsey Elise Young uses their natures and behaviors to guide Payton toward faith. There’s a valuable lesson in Payton’s perception that those friends she reveres as trustworthy are shown not to be, and those she considers too perfect are simply forgiven. There is a powerful theme of restitution throughout and a sense of no one being left behind. But I loved best the subtle, clever humor which lightens the mood and provides laugh-out-loud moments. I appreciated the description of the Hound of Heaven, and my favorite quote is: ‘It occurred to me that I had exchanged the fleeting affections of worldly princes for the unchanging love of a Perfect King.’ This is an encouraging and upbeat novel, offering as much refreshment as entertainment.

When the Hummingbirds Danced in a Honeysuckle Sky by Patrick E. Craig is a moving and emotionally layered story of love, regret, and redemption. Josie Winters, a faded country music star, finds herself grappling not only with cancer but with the painful echoes of a fractured past. Her estranged daughter refuses contact, leaving Josie to face her final chapter alone until Wesley, the husband who abandoned her decades ago, unexpectedly reenters her life. With nowhere else to turn, Josie accepts his help reluctantly, and the two begin a difficult but heartfelt reckoning with their shared history. Through quiet moments, painful memories, and the fragile renewal of trust, they discover that healing is possible, even at the edge of life. Told with lyrical grace and emotional depth, this novel is a testament to the enduring bonds of love and the fragile hope that can still bloom in the twilight of one’s journey.

Author Patrick E. Craig knows how to get to the soul of a character swiftly and naturally, and readers are quickly gripped by Josie and her plight in a beautifully written tale of second chances, steeped in emotional authenticity and quiet grace. I thought the dialogue was especially clever in unveiling new emotional moments and discoveries in the plot, but nothing ever felt forced and sounded truly from the heart. This helps the themes of forgiveness, aging, and love to come through in situations and conversations that readers will find personally familiar, and the lessons and experiences Josie and her family go through linger long after you’ve set the book down. It certainly makes for an emotionally resonant read. It’s also a work that’s unflinchingly honest about the tough subjects and speaks to the heart of what it means to be family through thick and thin. Overall, I would certainly recommend When the Hummingbirds Danced in a Honeysuckle Sky as a poignant exploration of reconciliation and legacy that is perfectly paced and powerfully told.

Life wasn’t easy for young Beatrice. An orphan living with and caring for an aging aunt, she has her sights set on a young man, Isaac, who lives nearby. In Edwina Kiernan’s The Lamp, Beatrice and Isaac try to cement their love in the Victorian era, when certain principles and family obligations sometimes interfere. Isaac is sent away to look after some property that his father recently inherited. He has no time to meet with Beatric and inform her of his departure. Then an outbreak of cholera threatens their lives, making it difficult to believe that their love might someday bring them back together. Will the two find their place together, as they believe was God’s intention?

Edwina Kiernan’s novel, The Lamp, is the second book in the Victorian Virtues series. Set in Victorian England, this charming historical romance will captivate historical romance readers. The two main characters are well-developed and presented in a caring, believable manner. Dialogue is used effectively to enhance the character development as well as move the plot forward. This is a fast-paced drama, a real page-turner. The author has a thorough comprehension, understanding, and appreciation of the era in which her novel is set. Christian faith plays a profound role in this story, as it did for many who lived in the Victorian era. Bursting with intrigue, powerful sentiments, and a lasting desire to follow the life of a good Christian, the two main characters, Beatrice and Isaac, will inspire and encourage readers well after they’ve finished reading the book.
